The 3,080-guest Ruby Princess may have sailed out of 2015 and 2018 dry docks with several features found on newer Princess Cruises vessels, including Salty Dog Gastropub and Slice Pizzeria, but even with the updates this ship still has a somewhat old-fashioned feel compared to the cruise line’s glitzier Royal Class ships. Accordingly, Ruby Princess attracts cruisers who are looking for a more traditional cruise experience.
What We Love
Vines Wine Bar: This Princess staple located off the Piazza is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of your favorite red or white wine or sample a variety of vintages with a flight — accompanied by an assortment of tapas and antipasti.
The Sanctuary: Cruisers looking for an escape can pay a small extra fee to enjoy peace and quiet in this outdoor, spa-inspired locale that’s adults-only. Enjoy light meals and beverages, along with excellent service.
Best Known For
Entertainment: You can grab some popcorn and check out Movies Under the Stars on the expansive pool deck or order a cocktail and head to the Princess Theater for a musical production.
The Piazza: At the center of the ship, this elegant atrium serves as the backdrop for some memorable moments, including the Champagne waterfall at the captain's welcome party. You’ll also find a coffee café, a wine bar, and a martini and piano bar.
